Bienvenidos a mi crónica de la Madrid Games Week!!
Ya sé que ha pasado una semana pero nunca es tarde si la dicha es buena 😀
Todo empezó dos semanas y media antes del MGW, cuando Asus me confirmó que querían contar con mi presencia en el evento con un cosplay customizado con la marca «Republic of Gamers» y con la temática Heroes of the Storm. Busqué personajes femeninos del juego que me diese tiempo a hacer y por temas de envíos de materiales vimos que Valla era la más viable, así que me puse manos a la obra. Tocó viaje a Sol a por gomaeva y a por la tela (que por cierto es maravillosa, porque por donde le da la luz es roja y por donde le da la sombra es negra), al Decathlon, Leroy Merlín, chinos y más chinos. Pedido de lentillas y worbla y a trabajar. Si queréis ver fotos del making-of, ¡¡las subí todas al Patreon!!
Fue una labor bastante dura por ir contrarreloj, pero tenía tantas ganas de hacer a Valla que no me importó.
Por fin llegó el viernes del evento. Tenía que estar allí a las 12:00 así que me levanté prontito para ultimar algunos detalles y quemarme un par de veces con la pistola de silicona T_T
Una vez allí, me encontré con @ArrietartOp que no sólo me regaló y dedicó uno de sus impresionantes dibujos, sino que incluso me ayudó a ponerme el cosplay. Qué amor de mujer <3
He de decir que el primer día fue un poco catastrófico porque al haber tenido poco tiempo y ser la primera vez que me hacía piezas de armadura con worbla, me desarmé un par de veces. Suerte que @Sayuritlol estuvo allí para ayudarme (y que los chicos de @GGStoreES estuvieron encantados de cederme sus habilidades xD) y al final todo salió bien.
Llegamos a casa y reparé todo lo que había fallado del cosplay, viendo qué había hecho mal por ser mi primera vez y grabándomelo a fuego para que no vuelva a pasar.
Uno de los pequeños «contras» de llevar el cosplay de Valla fue el dolor de brazos. Terminé el día con un bulto en mi hombro izquierdo de aguantar el peso de la ballesta.
El sábado estuvimos allí bien tempranito, esta vez fue @Ocho_Stream quien me ayudó a vestirme (el domingo también). El día transcurrió sin incidentes graves en cuanto al cosplay, salvo un par de individuos que se pensaron que todo estaba hecho de acero reforzado y bueno, lo típico. Pero por lo demás genial. Un buen rollo increíble con todo el mundo, pasándomelo en grande con grandes, medianos y pequeños, y sobre todo muy a gusto y muy agradecida con el trato recibido por parte de Asus. Puedo decir que éste ha sido el evento en el que he trabajado en el que he recibido mejor trato. Y con diferencia.
Además, para evitar que se me agravara la lesión del brazo, César me estuvo ayudando a cargar la ballesta y a dársela a la gente para que se hiciera fotos, cosa que agradecí un montón.
El domingo también transcurrió con normalidad, estuve desde la mañana hasta después de la hora de comer (aunque nosotros no comimos hasta llegar a casa). Acabé muy contenta, destrozada, pero muy contenta.
La única lástima es que (obviamente) no pude probar ninguna de las actividades que tenían organizadas, como el salto de fe, pero me pude dar una vuelta y disfrutar del pedazo de hinchable del Dragón Shenron, el Tie Fighter, la multitud de tiendas y sobre todo la zona retro, mi debilidad.

I know it’s been a week but it’s never too late to set things right 😀
It all began two and a half weeks before the MGW, when Asus confirmed to me that they wanted to have me at the event with a customized cosplay of their brand «Republic of Gamers» and the Heroes of the Storm as a theme. I searched female characters in the game that i was able to do in time, but due to the delivery time of the materials needed we concluded that Valla was the most viable, so it settled.
I travelled to «Sol» to buy eva-foam and the fabric (which by the way is wonderful, because where the light reflects is red and where it doesn’t is black), Decathlon, Leroy Merlin, Chinese stores and more Chinese stores. I ordered contact lenses and worbla and started!! If you want to see the making-of photos, i uploaded them to Patreon!!
It was quite hard to work against the clock, but was so happy about making Valla from zero that I did not care.
Finally, the Friday of the event came. We had to be there at 12:00 so I got up very early to finalize some details and burn myself a couple of times with the glue gun T_T before attending.
Once there, I met @ArrietartOp who not only gave me one of her awesome drawings but she even helped me to wear my cosplay. She is so lovely <3
I have to say that the first day was a bit catastrophic because having little time and being the first time that I made worbla armor pieces, I got disarmed a couple of times. I was lucky that @Sayuritlol was there to help (and the GGStoreES guys were kind enough to lend me her skills xD) and in the end everything went pretty well.
We got home and I fixed everything that had failed with the cosplay, seeing what went wrong for being my first time and etching it in my mind in order to never let it happen again.
One of the small issues to wear Valla was the pain in my arms. I ended the day with a lump in my left shoulder due to bear the weight of the crossbow.
On Saturday we were there early, this time it was @Ocho_Stream who helped me dressing up (also sunday). The day passed without serious incidents with the cosplay, not taking into account a couple of guys who thought that everything was made of reinforced steel and well, you know. Cosplayer’s stuff. But otherwise great. A good vibe with everyone, having a great time with both older men, women, youth and children and mostly very happy and very grateful for the treatment received by Asus. I can say that this was the event that I have received the best treatment from all of those where I had the pleasure to work.
In addition, to prevent aggravation of the injuried arm, Cesar helped me carrying the crossbow and giving it to the people directly to make photos, which I appreciated a lot.
Sunday also went smoothly, I was there from morning until after lunch (although we did not eat until we got home). I ended up very happy, shattered and exhausted but very happy.
The only shame is that (obviously) I could not try any of the activities that were taking place in the MGW, like the leap of faith, but I could take a walk and enjoy the inflatable Dragon Shenron, Tie Fighter, and the multitude of shops and especially the retro area, my weakness.

Enhorabuena por el trabajo y el resultado, esperemos que te llamen más veces. ¿Podrías decirnos cuánto has gastado de cada material? Eva, Worbla, pegamento, cola , pinturas, telas,etc... (las lentillas ya sabemos que son 2 xD)
